Betfair has announced that Joshua Hannah has stepped down from his position as a non-executive director of the online gambling company.
Hannah was first appointed as a director of The Sporting Exchange Limited in 2002 after the acquisition of Flutter.com, a betting exchange website of which he was a founder.
He then became a non-executive director Betfair when Flutter.com was incorporated into the company in 2008. Hannah was then appointed to the company’s board for the Betfair flotation in 2010.
Gerald Corbett, Betfair’s chairman, paid tribute to Hannah and the “enormous contribution” he made whilst with the firm.
“He has seen the company grow from its early days as an internet start-up, through to flotation and to where we are today,” Corbett said.
