All twelve of the land-based casinos in Atlantic City have now notified the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement regarding what intra-state online gambling deals they have made or intend to sign.
According to a report from the Reuters news service, the Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa, which is co-owned by Boyd Gaming Corporation and MGM Resorts International, along with operator Caesars Entertainment Corporation were among the first to meet a deadline set last month.
Caesars Entertainment operates the Showboat Atlantic City, Bally’s Atlantic City, Caesars Atlantic City and Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City venues and is to pair with 888 Holdings while the Borgata through its Marina District Development Company LLC parent has signed a deal with bwin.party digital entertainment.
Trump Entertainment Resorts owns the New Jersey resort’s Trump Taj Mahal casino and earlier this week revealed that it had finalised an agreement with new American online poker and bingo operator Ultimate Gaming for the provision of a range of real-money Internet casino games and poker titles.
“For applicants that meet this filing deadline, the Division will be in a position to determine if they can commence Internet gaming operations by the go-live date,” said Lisa Spengler from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
The notifications were a requirement for operators wanting to begin offering intra-state online gambling as soon as it goes live in the eastern state, which could come as early as November 23.
