Over the past 3 days, we’ve heard from various experts in the music, sports and marketing industry. Today, as we approach day 4 of the All That Matters Online 2020, we get to hear from more experts in the eSports industry. Starting off the day was Vice Chairman at PMC, Gerry Byrne followed by a VidCon interview with Hank Green, CEO of Complexly.
Paul Foster, COO of Global eSports Federation then joined Bloomberg reporter Lucas Shaw in a discussion surrounding establishing credibility, legitimacy and prestige for eSports. “One of the things that’s been incredibly compelling during this time of social isolation. This period has made us stop and reflect how we enjoy entertainment. Alot of us can probably contribute around the credibility part. It’s quite profound that somehow humanity we all were able to adopt and adapt” Foster expressed.
The event also saw FaZe Clan‘s FaZe Apex and Lee Trink who was joined by Jasper Donat. “We want to keep us excited, we want to keep our fans excited as long as we’re doing that, it feels like we’re going in the right direction.” says Lee.
Speaking on the importance of mental health in the eSports industry as a gamer, Apex says that “It’s very tough to navigate especially when you’re a teenager. We have so many awesome younger kids and i just love to check in. We try to prepare them and stop them from going through all those mental roadblocks that we went through. We’re trying to figure out the best way to solve this. As long as we’ve got good people around us and we have our head on our shoulders it’s something that’s able to work through.”
India’s largest digital star, Bhuvan Bam had also made an appearance with Rohit Raj, Manager and Partner at BB Ki Vines. Bhuavan shared his story of how his life has evolved and how he came to be where he is now. “I always thought that in order to make it big and showcase my talent, i had to stand in a long que and audition for things but i think the internet has changed it over the course of 5-6 years and now anybody with a tad bit of talent and a good internet connection and a creative mind can actually tell people what they feel.”
Luis Vicente CEO of ELEVEN, didn’t miss out on sharing tips on getting by in the eSports business. He said that there are “certain personality traits that definitely help you in the business. Honesty, transparency and professionalism, if you want to stay in this business long term, you need to make sure that you always deliver at the highest and always deliver in an honest and professional way.”
