Tropicana Handed Fifth New Jersey iGaming Permit

Tropicana Casino and Resort has become the fifth land-based casino operator in Atlantic City to be granted an online gaming permit by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

The operator will now be able to offer online gambling services when the US state launches full online gaming on November 26.

Earlier this year, Tropicana confirmed its intentions to move into online gambling by forming a partnership with casino and bingo operator Gamesys, the firm behind the Jackpotjoy.com website.

Now a permit has been granted, Tropicana will join fellow land-based operators Golden Nuggest Atlantic City, Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza and the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in offering online gambling in New Jersey.

Borgata was the first operator to be handed an iGaming permit earlier this month, while the Golden Nugget and Trump Entertainment Resorts properties followed last week.

While online gambling is scheduled to launch in New Jersey on November 26, all permitted companies must first complete a five-day “soft launch” trial period that will begin on November 21.
