Jumio Unveils Face Match Technology For Netverify

Credentials management firm Jumio has announced the launch of its Face Match technology, a new capability available within its Netverify identity verification platform.

Jumio said that the new innovation will help Netverify customers assess the extent to which a photo on an ID used in mobile or online transaction matches the customer’s actual face, guarding against fraudulent activity.

Businesses that use Netverify with Face Match add two “primary source” authentication factors to their account origination or transactions security procedures.

As well as a standard username and password, Jumio also adds scanning and validation of original ID credentials and Face Match to deliver what it claims is a “near real-time” customer authentication experience.

Daniel Mattes, founder and chief executive officer of Jumio, said, “We can now not only determine that the actual identification is in-hand and valid, but that the person holding the card is the same person as in the picture.

“This renders ‘person-not-present’ transactions to be effectively as secure, or more so, than a traditional ‘person present’ transaction.

“This is an important step in combating fraud and helping our clients meet a variety of KYC regulations and practices.”
