Wynn files For New Jersey Online Gaming Licence

Hotels and casinos firm Wynn Resorts has become the latest company to apply for an online gaming licence in the US state of New Jersey.

According to Reuters, Wynn submitted its application to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement late last week.

Licencing to offer online gaming in the state will be limited to the 12 land-based casinos in New Jersey. Wynn currently operates casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada and Macau, China, but has no presence in New Jersey’s Atlantic City.

In July, all 12 Atlantic City casinos notified New Jersey regulators of their plans to link up with online gaming providers. To date, nine casinos have already announced partnerships, while Golden Nugget Atlantic City said it would offer its own brand of online gambling using Bally Technologies.

Online gambling in New Jersey has been given an initial launch date of November this year.
