Las Vegas-based Station Casinos is operated by Fertitta Entertainment LLC and revealed that the premiere follows a successful trial of its Sports Connection Mobile innovation, which allows customers to place wagers on sporting events using mobile telephones and tablet computers.
Station Casinos is following sportsbook operators William Hill and Cantor Gaming and Wagering into the Nevada mobile sportsbook market and stated that its application has an advantage over these competitors as it is attached to a player rewards programme that allows punters to earn points that can be redeemed in-house.
“I think this is fantastic for the growth potential of the sports wagering industry,” said Art Manteris, sportsbook operations vice-president for Station Casinos.
“There is still nothing like watching the event in one of our books but we know that sometimes life gets in the way. The application keeps a customer in the game.”
Station Casino declared that Sports Connection Mobile is to be made available to users of its Sports Connection Intranet product as well as punters with smartphone devices and tablet computers such as the iPad and iPhone. In order to enroll, customers must be at least 21 years old and make a minimum deposit of $50.
