The Stars Group announces Sky Betting and Gaming Executive Chairman Richard Flint to leave company after almost two decades.

Richard Flint has revealed he will be stepping down as Sky Betting and Gaming Executive Chairman next month, as he leaves the company after 18 years.

The announcement came in the first quarter earnings call of The Stars Group, Sky Betting and Gaming’s owner.

Flint, who had been Sky Betting’s CEO, became Executive Chairman last year after The Stars Group acquired the company for $4.7bn.

Commenting on the news The Stars Group CEO, Rafi Ashkenazi, said:

“I’d like to thank Richard for his great work and assistance with the transition of the business. Richard leaves Sky Bet in a great state in its new home, under the management of Ian Proctor (CEO) and Connor Grant (COO), who were both promoted from within following CMA approval last October.

“I’m confident that this will allow us to maintain our unique culture that has delivered success over the years.”

For the first quarter of 2019, The Stars Group reported revenues of $580m – as substantial 47% year-on-year increase, while adjusted EBITDA rose 11.6% to $195m. Sky Bet contributed 31%, or $179m, of the group’s revenue.
