Canadian esports company Enthusiast Gaming has signed a content partnership with sports and gaming-focused production company ESPAT TV.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Collectively, Enthusiast claims a monthly fan base of 30M across multiple teams and platforms. Under the terms of the deal, ESPAT TV will create original content for this audience through its creative collective, starting with TikTok and expanding to other platforms in the future.
Announced in December, ESPAT TV’s creative collective includes such content creation partners as Ridley Scott Creative Group’s family of companies (RSA Films, Scott Free Films, Black Dog Films, and Darling); sports and esports event, movie, and television production company PRG; esports and gaming community-focused content creator Esports Locker; video production and content creation firm Unbridled Media; and TikTok-focused agency Movers & Shakers. Misfits Gaming Group joined the creative collective in December as well.
Enthusiast is a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange that operates Overwatch League team the Vancouver Titans, Call of Duty League team Seattle Surge, gaming expo Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo (EGLX), Omni Media, gaming and media brands BCC Gaming and Arcade Cloud, and Luminosity Gaming.
In March, the company announced a partnership with ByteDance to create content for distribution on short-form video platform TikTok and entered into an agreement to purchase Vedatis SAS, owners of Icy Veins, a platform dedicated to guides for Activision Blizzard games including World of Warcraft and Overwatch. The company also owns several gaming-related publications including Destructoid and The Escapist.
