Electronic Arts on Friday revealed details about the premiere of FIFA Face-Off, a two-part FIFA 21 live competition show featuring celebrities and professional players that will air Friday and on March 26 on the company’s official Twitch channel.
The competition will feature former Saturday Night Live cast member and actor Jason Sudeikis playing Ted Lasso, the title character of the Apple TV show of the same name. He’ll be joined by fellow cast member Brendan Hunt. Other participants include Trevor Noah, host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, American Music Award-winning artist Becky G, and Latin GRAMMY award winner Nicky Jam.
Popular FIFA influencer and player Castro 1021 will serve as the host of the event.
During both episodes, celebrity players will pair up with community winners to help them win a $25K USD prize pool.
On Friday, Nicky Jam will partner with Fnatic Tekkz and community winner EashVeraam17 to take on Becky G, Ninjas in Payjamas’ NIP Ollelito, and community winner JDenman.
On March 26, Trevor Noah will team up with NFG Esports’ NFG_Lisa, and community winner FUTHeda to battle Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso (coached by Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard) who will be joined by FIFA pro and DUX Gaming player Jaime Álvarez and community winner Cory_B. Both competitions will start at 12:30 p.m. EST.
