The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) has confirmed that more than 125,000 online gaming accounts have been opened in the US state since the full launch of internet gambling in November.
According to the CardPlayer.com website, the organization said that a total of 126,231 accounts had been opened as of December 29. The latest figure represents an increase of 16,285 in the previous week.
The total number of accounts does not represent the amount of unique online gamblers as one person may have opted to sign up for an account with each online gaming operator in the state.
The state launched a full online gambling service on November 26 last year, a move that attracted over 32,000 players in the first week.
New Jersey became just the third US state to go live with an online gambling service, following launches by Nevada and Delaware earlier in 2013.
