Plus500 announced this Monday that it has become the main sponsor of Legia Warsaw, a professional football club based in Warsaw, for the 2020/21 season. As part of the sponsorship, the broker’s logo will appear on the front of the players’ jerseys.
Legia Warsaw is the current football champion in Poland. With today’s announcement, they become the third European football club to be added to the London-listed broker’s sponsorship portfolio.
The agreement between Plus500 and the Polish football club will commence at the beginning of the 2020/21 football season and will last for a two year period. The current agreement has the option to be extended for another year.
As part of the agreement, the broker’s logo will appear on the front of the club’s official jersey and training shirts for both national and overseas matches. The agreement also gives the broker access to a range of branding rights.
Commenting on the sponsorship, David Zruia, Chief Executive Officer of Plus500, said in the statement: “We are delighted to be partnering with Legia Warsaw, a club with a great legacy and an excellent fan base, continuing our commitment to support professional sports and adding them to our already formidable bench of high-quality sponsorship agreements with national champions across the world.
“Our partnership with Legia is expected to further strengthen our ability to increase our international brand recognition and grow our global customer base, as well as driving brand awareness in Poland, an important market with great potential.”
Plus500 adds to its sports sponsorship portfolio
The logo of Fortuna Zakłady Bukmacherskie will be moved to the back of the jersey, replacing the logo of the Królewskie brand, which has been moved to the sleeve for the season.
Plus500 currently has its longstanding partnership with Spanish football club Atlético Madrid, of which it is the main sponsor. The firm also sponsors BSC Young Boys Football Club and Plus500 Brumbies rugby club in Australia.
“We are thrilled to announce this partnership with Plus500, a leading international company, as our main sponsor. We are proud that Plus500 has decided to partner with us in developing its market position in Poland and the region,” added Dariusz Mioduski, Chief Executive Officer and owner of Legia Warsaw in the statement.
“This is an acknowledgment of the strength of the Legia Warsaw brand, the most successful football club and recognised sports brand in Poland. Plus500 is not only a leader in its chosen markets, but it also has a great track record of supporting successful teams in professional sports, on an international basis. Our cooperation proves the unique position of our club on the global stage.”
