German lottery company LOTTO Thüringen has expanded its offerings after IT services provider adesso developed a mobile services solution for the firm.
Lottery players in the German state of Thuringia had previously been able to use their smartphones to place bets on the classic LOTTO Thüringen website. This had been developed by adesso using the in|FOCUS platform and FirstSpirit content management system.
Smartphone users will now be able to place bets on a website optimised for mobile devices.
The mobile website implements a newly-installed HTML channel that features the familiar colouring of LOTTO Thüringen’s online presence.
Mobile players using the lottery portal will automatically be forwarded to the new mobile site, which allows customers already registered on the regular website to take part in a number of games that have been optimised for mobile devices.
Games on offer include LOTTO 6aus49, Eurojackpot, KENO and GlücksSpirale, as well as additional games Spiel77, Super6 and plus 5.
Players will also be able to access information regarding winnings and odds on the new mobile site.
Jörg Schwäblein, managing director of LOTTO Thüringen, said, “In extending our services, we are responding to our younger target audience, which has made good use of the games already available on our website.
“They value increased independence and are used to being able to access an entire range of sites no matter where they are.”
Andreas Kohlmann, senior business developer lottery at adesso, added, “In our opinion, the strategic integration of mobile applications in business processes is key to success, also in the lottery sector.
“We are very pleased that LOTTO Thüringen is the first of our German lottery clients to have created an optimised mobile site and we are certain that other customers will follow in its footsteps.”
