In a series of tweets made from the official Code Red Esports Twitter account, the organization announced early Tuesday morning that Esports commentator Toby “TobiWan” Dawson has joined the UK-based esports agency as Head of Broadcast Talent.
The Australian born Dota 2 caster has been a mainstay in the scene, having worked The International–Dota 2’s championship event–each of the nine years in its existence. Dawson has also been a part of the broadcast talent for over 58 events since 2011.
According to the announcement, this new position will not preclude Dawson from continuing to work as a commentator.
“For any of you that may be worried you’ll no longer be seeing @TobiWanDOTA on your favorite Dota broadcasts – DON’T FRET!,” a posted Code Red Tweet read. “Toby will be continuing his casting career alongside his new staff role at Code Red.”
